IES Officers requested govt. to end the deadlock and start the process of promotion.

The cadre controlling authority of IES officer Mr Atanu Chakravarty, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs and Chief Economic Adviser have been requested to end the deadlock and start the process of promotion.

Indian Economic Service Association(IESA) today held its Annual General Body Meeting in Constitution Hall. It was attended by more than 100 IES officers. Dr K Subramanian, Chief Economic Adviser, who was the chief guest of the function appreciated the role of IES officers in the policy making of the country.

In the meeting, IESA took a discussed and decided that its offices shall work hard in providing appropriate economic inputs in the policy making in order to push the growth rate of 8% plus. It is known thatIES officer are posted in in all the key economic and social ministries and the are fairly at heart level and are providing economic inputs which no other service can offer. Economic inputs are also hard to come by. Due of their professionalism qualifications and experience of economic policy making, IES officers have an edge over others in the Government.

Department of Economic Affairs is providing leadership and guidance to make IES officer more skilled in policy making. IESA also discussed about the better prospect and promotion for IES officers and are hopeful that due to IES`s core strengths, Government will agree to provide time bound promotion including all its demand including completing housing projects for young IES officers, Exclusive Training Academy etc.
