The entire world has been fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. It has impacted the world,especially the vulnerable communities of urban slums, rural and remote areas. They bear an increasing burden, as it has disproportionately affected their lives and livelihoods because of economic slowdown and lockdown. The non-profits and social entrepreneurs are engaged in offering COVID support, but they are facing financial and resources crunch because of reduced corporate funding and sponsorship.
To promote awareness about these issues and build an ecosystem to facilitate such conversations, Shonal Rath, a 20-year Odia girl based in Delhi, has launched the Demystified Initiative. She wants to bring philanthropists, corporate leaders, influencers, non-profits, and communities closer to build an inclusive future through this initiative.
“As the global leaders, experts and businesses are now engaged in Post-COVID rebuilding exercise, what must be taken into consideration is inclusive growth that must take into account the interests of all sections of the Society, including the vulnerable communities, elderly, and women. I want to sensitize the global leaders about the sufferings of these people and how they must contribute so that their well-being is ensured,” says Shonal.
As a first step, she is launching a series of talks called #StrategicSupport – Global Leader’s Summit. In this summit, eminent leaders from the US, UK, France, Dubai, and India will participate. Other initiatives will include bootcamps, fundraising events and mobilize young voices from across the world.

About the Founder
Shonal Rath is an Economics (Hons) student at the University of Delhi. Last month, she was announced as a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society for Great Britain and Ireland. A European Research for Training and Development (ERCTD) certified member with a background in working with the Government of India, Non- Profit Organisations, and Consultancy agencies, she has published 15+ internationally recognized publications in Development Studies, Economics, and Society up to date. She is an established author of the book series Project Development Demystified. She is also currently voluntarily working as the Development Associate at the Outcast Activist Forum (OAF) Uganda.
